Following a degree in finance with post-graduate studies in Macro Economics

from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Bob began his career in Toronto, and worked

both in Canada and the U.S. for a number of national and international benefits

and actuarial consulting firms.

In 1980, Bob started his own benefit consulting and software development firms

in Vancouver providing consulting services to the BC educational and

entertainment sectors. His companies were sold to Sedgwick James/William M

Mercer in 1990.

Returning to Toronto, Bob worked as a consultant in the health-care delivery

sector specializing in the design and development of managed health-care

programs for large employers and Canadian insurance companies.

In 1997, Bob joined and joined the Actra Fraternal Benefit Society (AFBS) as

President and CEO. AFBS is the insurance and retirement company for the

Canadian entertainment sector, investing insurance and retirement assets for

performers and screenwriters across Canada.

During his more than 25 years as CEO, AFBS assets under administration increased

from $250 million to more than $1 billion, and AFBS became the largest member-

owned insurance and retirement company in the North American entertainment

sector.

In addition to expanding the footprint of AFBS to include the broader artistic

community, during his tenure at AFBS, Bob designed and implemented the AFBS

Arts & Entertainment Plan, and the AFBS Accident on Set program providing

workers compensation benefits for performers and stunt performers in seven of

the ten provinces where these performers are excluded from provincial workers

compensation. This program has become the industry standard in the Canadian

production business.

Bob is the Past President of the Canadian Fraternal Association and has served as

a director of a number of organizations including the Canadian Life and Health

Insurance Association (CLHIA), the Canadian Artists Network, the Canadian

Broadcast Museum Foundation, and the Creative Arts Savings and Credit Union,

PAL Toronto, and Performing Arts FutureCare.

Jean-Marc MacKenzie is an accomplished visionary strategist in the health and

wellness space in Canada. With a track record of success in leading prominent

organizations such as Medcan and Morneau Shepell (now Lifeworks), he has

played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of personal health assessments,

concierge medicine, occupational health, and corporate health and wellness.

Starting his career as a professional hockey player in the Hartford Whalers

organization (NHL), Jean-Marc brings a unique perspective and a strong drive for

excellence to everything he pursues.

Recently, he co-founded ReGen Scientific, a pioneering medical ecosystem

focused on personalized health, further solidifying his reputation as a leading

innovator in the field. Beyond his achievements in the healthcare industry, Jean-

Marc is deeply involved in the film and television community. He actively

contributes to the Performing Art Lodge Toronto, serving as Vice Chair of the

Board of Directors, and is a founding Board Member of Performing Arts Future

Care. These organizations provide affordable housing and healthcare resources to

individuals who have devoted their lives to the industry, ensuring they age with

dignity.

Jean-Marc's educational background includes a combined Juris Doctor law degree

(JD) and Master of Health Administration (MHA) from Dalhousie University. He

also holds a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational, School, and Counseling

Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching and Leadership from the

University of Missouri-Columbia.

With his strategic acumen, dedication to the performing arts community, and

strong educational foundation, Jean-Marc continues to make a profound impact

in Canada in both the health and wellness industry and the film and television

world. His multifaceted contributions and unwavering commitment to positive

change position him as a respected leader at the intersection of health, wellness,

and the performing arts.

Martin has spent much of his career in the information security sector, specializing in banking and working for world leaders such as UBS Warburg, MSCI, HSBC, Natwest Global Financial Markets. and provide security services for government agencies such as the UK Department of Justice DoJ and Royal Palaces (HRP)

Martin was also the founder of Compliancy One, a specialist information compliancy company specialising in the legal and regulatory sector. 

After an early retirement, Martin fell in love with the entertainment industry and has over 50 commercial, television and film appearances to his credit

Martin is activly involved with film production production and is executive producer of the films "Bring him to me" and the TV show Beyond Ink.

Fred Langan is a Canadian author and journalist. He worked at the CBC for more than 40 years as a business news anchor.

Fred also freelanced for many domestic and foreign newspapers, including the Globe and Mail, The Economist, the New York Times, and the Christian Science Monitor. 

Fred has published two novels and has written 12 books showcasing the lives of famous Canadians.

Fred has been the business news editor for AFBS for more than 20 years and is a much sought after speaker on business trends and new developments. Fred publishes his popular Fred Langan Report on a weekly basis to a broad audience of business

news junkies.

• Authored laws regulating healthcare facilities, professionals and funding as Director of Legal Services for the Ontario Ministry of Health, including provincial, uniform and federal criminal laws on mental disorder.
